Cinema Capitol (230 W. Dominick St.) will extend its screenings of the newly-released comedy “On the Rocks” following positive reviews from patrons. Directed by Academy Award nominee Sophia Coppola, the movie stars Bill Murray and Rashida Jones. How times will be held from Friday, Oct. 30, through Monday, Nov. 2.
“On the Rocks” tells the story of a young mother named Laura who reconnects with her playboy father on an adventure through New York City. Laura has become suspicious that her career-driven husband may be having an affair, a speculation encouraged by her caddish, bon vivant father. The two set out to determine if these speculations are indeed true. Also starring on the movie are Marlon Wayans, Jessica Henwick, and Jenny Slate.
The Chicago Sun-Times writes “The two great comic stars quip their way through some snappy dialogue and amusing screwball comedy.” CNN writes that “On the Rocks” is “An entertaining, wonderfully simple comedy with the qualities of a smooth martini – it goes down easy, but delivers a bit of kick.”
“On the Rocks” runs 96 minutes and is rated R (for language/sexual references). Show times are Friday and Saturday at 4 and 7:15 p.m., Sunday at 1 and 4 p.m., and Monday at 7:15 p.m. Friday’s 4 and Sunday’s 1 show times will include captions for the hearing-impaired.
All patrons are required to wear masks for the duration of the movie, unless eating and/or drinking. Parties will be socially-distanced at least 6 feet apart.
Since the Cinema is only admitting 25 percent of its capacity, it is recommended that patrons purchase tickets in advance. These can be purchased at www.romecapitol.com or by calling 315-337-6277. Tickets are $8, $7 for students and military, and $6 for Capitol “Friends.”
