If there is one thing we can learn from the Jurassic Park franchise it’s that human beings do not like to listen to cold, hard scientific facts when it means they could be doing something fun.
All the movies follow a similar premise of people going “wow what if we had a theme park ... but DINOSAURS” and people who spend their lives researching dinosaurs being like “Okay, but, like, we have to make sure they’re being properly taken care of and that this hypothetical center is based on education and not profit” and the former group being all like [Read at 9:46 am].
But if the movies weren’t enough to get the point across, get ready for an animated series! This time it’s a group of plucky teens who decide that going to a camp set up in Jurassic World is a dandy idea.
Dinosaur camp sounds delightful in theory, but maybe not so much in execution given the fact we know how these things tend to go. But the kids don’t know that, so off to zip-lining adventures and peaceful dino observation they go! Except, of course, a bunch of the dinos that eat people start storming and they six teens must fend for their lives.
In the trailer above, we see the moment when all hell breaks loose. The alarm blares and all of the kids start running. It’s not just the meat-eating dinos that are rampaging; two of the kids get stuck in an altercation with a triceratops while in a gyrosphere. There also seem to be no adults around — how will they get off the island?
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is set during the events of the first Jurassic World movie. It premieres on Netflix on Sept. 18.
